8x128 crosspoint matrix relay kit, w/mPCIe- or M.2-DIO-24SRL Controller

Description

The mPCIe-DIO-24SRL or M.2-DIO-24SRL card combined with a stack of eight ROB-Matrix-8×16 boards make a single 8×128 crosspoint matrix switch, all controlled over one serial cable and requiring a single power connection. The Form 1A dry reed electromechanical relays support 200 Volts, 20 watts, and all 1024 relays can be switched in under a millisecond (Note: at most 20% of relays on any given ROB-Matrix-8×16 can be energized at the same time. Exceeding these limits may trip the resettable F1
polyfuse).

The ROB-Matrix-8×128 Kit replaces manual rewiring and application-specific cable harnesses with a software-controlled reed-relay crosspoint matrix. In automated test, validation, cable testing, and hardware-in-the-loop systems, the same instruments can be connected to different device pins under program control. This reduces setup time, wiring errors, connector wear, and the need to build a separate fixture for every product variation.

The controller card presents the relay matrix through a straightforward register interface, allowing software to update or read back the commanded state of an entire stack efficiently. Combined with the electrical flexibility of dry reed relays the result is a compact, rugged switching platform that can be adapted to many test and signal-routing applications rather than being tied to one fixed fixture.

Applications

  • Manufacturing/Production Test
  • Machine Control
  • Industrial Automation
  • Factory Automation
  • Laboratory Automation
  • Embedded OEM

SOFTWARE

The card is supported for use in most operating systems and includes a free Linux, and Windows compatible software package. This package contains sample programs and source code in Visual C#, Delphi, and Visual C++ for Windows. Also provided is a graphical setup program in Windows. Linux support includes installation files and basic samples for programming from user level via our open source kernel driver. Third party support includes a Windows standard DLL interface usable from the most popular application programs, and includes LabVIEW 8.5+ VIs. Embedded OS support includes Windows XPe, WES7, WES8, VxWorks, etc. Full register-level documentation of all features ensures easy compatibility in any application environment.

mPCIe MCOTS (modified-COTS) Customization

ACCES can modify or create mPCIe products with alternate I/O configurations, analog ranges, connectors, mechanical adjustments, conformal coating, isolated options, timing modifications, or firmware changes. Ideal for defense, UAVs, robotics, and OEM embedded systems needing fast-turn, small-form-factor MCOTS customization.
