Description

The IOD-64 provides 64 digital input/output channels for ISA-bus computers. Its eight 8-bit ports support bit-by-bit input or output programming, and each I/O point is directly addressable by the host. Inputs accept voltages up to 30 VDC.

Solid-State I/O Rack Interface

The card interfaces an ISA computer with industry-standard, optically isolated solid-state I/O module mounting racks. One IOD-64 can control up to four 16-position racks. The legacy design supports racks from Opto-22, Western Reserve Controls, DuTec, Gordos, and Potter & Brumfield.

Flexible Addressing and Port Control

The I/O ports occupy eight consecutive addresses, with a separately addressable control port. Addresses are selectable within the 200h to 3FFh I/O address range. Separate I/O and control addressing allows the I/O ports of multiple cards to occupy consecutive addresses.

Software can disable any or all of the eight I/O ports through the Output Control Latch. The PC reset signal clears this latch and disables all outputs at power-up or reset.

Hardware Interrupts

When enabled, the IRQ control logic routes signals from any or all of the last four inputs of Port 7 to host interrupts IRQ4 through IRQ7.

Connections

Four 50-pin headers each serve a group of 16 I/O channels. Each header alternates 16 bidirectional data lines with 16 ground lines and also provides +5 VDC from the computer bus and digital ground. An external 1 A fast-blow fuse is recommended for the bus-derived +5 VDC power output.

Modified-COTS (MCOTS) Customization

ACCES can tailor any standard product to your precise requirements — electrical, mechanical, firmware, environmental, or connector-level. Common MCOTS options include alternate I/O ranges, isolation enhancements, firmware changes, private labeling, conformal coating, extended temperature operation, ruggedized enclosures, and military-grade components. If this product is close but not a perfect fit, our engineering team can deliver a rapid-turn MCOTS variant with minimal NRE and dependable, Made-in-USA quality.
