Description
The IDI-xx family provides 16, 32, or 48 individually optically isolated digital inputs for ISA-bus computers. Differential inputs accept field signals up to 28 V or 60 V, depending on the model, with protection against accidental reversal of the input connections.
Channel-to-channel and channel-to-computer isolation helps eliminate ground loops in factory automation, energy management, security, and process monitoring applications. The 16- and 32-input models are depopulated versions of the 48-input card.
Choose the Input Configuration
Select the input count and voltage range required for your application. The A suffix identifies models with a maximum input voltage of 28 V; the B suffix identifies models with a maximum input voltage of 60 V. Models with a C suffix add change-of-state interrupt capability.
Change-of-State Detection
C-suffix models can generate a latched interrupt when one or more enabled input bits change state. Application software can respond by reading the inputs, signaling an alarm, or scanning other I/O points, reducing the need for continuous polling.
An on-board microcontroller supports enabling input groups and change-of-state detection in 16-channel blocks, subject to the channels populated on the selected model. Periodic scanning of active inputs can run concurrently with change-of-state operation to help verify system operation even when input states remain unchanged. Jumper-selectable interrupt levels are IRQ 2–7, 10–12, and 14–15.
Installation and Connections
Input wiring connects through on-card ribbon-cable headers. A tie-down bar provides cable strain relief, and on-card shields help prevent accidental contact with field voltages. The 13.310-inch-long board requires a full-size ISA slot.
For electrically noisy installations, optional ZTR-xx shielded protective cable jackets are described in the legacy ordering information. The jacket combines a high-temperature PVC outer layer with an aluminum foil/polyester shield and a groundable tinned-copper braid.
Modified-COTS (MCOTS) Customization
ACCES can tailor any standard product to your precise requirements — electrical, mechanical, firmware, environmental, or connector-level. Common MCOTS options include alternate I/O ranges, isolation enhancements, firmware changes, private labeling, conformal coating, extended temperature operation, ruggedized enclosures, and military-grade components. If this product is close but not a perfect fit, our engineering team can deliver a rapid-turn MCOTS variant with minimal NRE and dependable, Made-in-USA quality.
